Seamer and Irton CP School Council helps with ideas to make our school a bright and happy place. Our photographs are on display in the hall and we were introduced to the school in assembly in September 2008. There are 2 members per class in key stage 2, apart from in  year 4 where there are 4 members. Each class votes for their representatives.

We meet at 12.45 each Monday to discuss ideas from children. Every Tuesday the Pupil Council Surgery (Year 5 and 6 members), meet from 12.45 to 1.15 to give advice to children with concerns, and to gather ideas to improve the school.

This year we will be raising money for Khwima who lives in Africa. Our school sponsors her to help with her education and to improve the healthcare and provide clean water for her village.

We shall also be supporting a local charity – The Scarborough Blind and Partially Sighted Society.

Last year we raised £96.75 for the RNLI by holding a cake stall, and we held an Easter raffle (supported by Proudfoot’s, Morrison’s and Boyes) to raise money to help Khwima and her village.

We also organised a charity football match between the children’s football team and the school staff for Sport Relief. We are now trying to raise money to buy feeders and food for the bird feeding area by selling squares on a treasure map.
